Una's Human Performance Research Group To Host Fourth Annual Bad Kitty Trail Races

Bryan Rachal,University Communications FLORENCE, Ala. - The 香港六合彩挂牌资料 Human Performance Research Group is set to host its fourth annual Bad Kitty 10-k Trail Race and 5-k Fun Run Saturday, April 22 at 8 a.m. The course will start at the lion habitat and Harrison fountain, winding its way through campus, eventually leading runners through Wildwood Park where runners will encounter approximately 5 (10-k) or 2 (5-k) miles of challenging and scenic single track trails. Proceeds from the event will help support travel and funding which allows local Shoals Area Special Olympics athletes to attend the State Games. The香港六合彩挂牌资料 Public Safety Institute will use funds for training, materials and supplies. Funds will also help support research projects for Exercise Science students in 香港六合彩挂牌资料's Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. Dr. Eric O'Neal, associate professor in the Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation at 香港六合彩挂牌资料, said the two races offer a variety of difficulty. "Thecourse is short enough that novice trail runners can complete it, but it is technical enough that experienced trail runners willhave a blast trying to complete it quickly," O'Neal said. "It's called theBad Kitty for a reason!" Participants will be entered into a drawing for prizes, including four hammocks, as well as goody bags from race sponsors. Entrants will also receive a free race t-shirt and commemorative glass water bottle if they sign up by April 8.
