Micro-Credentials in Higher Education Administration

Micro-credentials that are closely tied to identifiable career paths are highly sought-after, specifically in Higher Education Administration. This micro-credential consists of 12 graduate credit hours of Higher Education Administration (HEA) coursework. It is designed to promote professional development and leadership among higher education career professionals by affording them access to recent scholarship, trends, and issues in their field specific to student life, student development, and student affairs. 

Requirements - A minimum of 12 hours of coursework must be selected from the list below.

  • HEA 605 Student Development Theory (3 credits)

  • HEA 607 Budgetary Management in Higher Education (3 credits)

  • HEA 611 The Legal Environment of Higher Education (3 credits)

  • HEA 613 Student Affairs Practices, Theory, and Policy (3 credits)

  • HEA 615 Contemporary Issues and Trends in Higher Education (3 credits)

  • HEA 619 Cultural Diversity in Higher Education (3 credits)

This micro-credential consists of 12 graduate credit hours of HEA coursework. It is designed to promote professional development and leadership among higher education career professionals by affording them access to recent scholarship, trends, and issues in their field specific to organizations within higher education that meet important needs beyond those related to students. Such needs include enrollment and marketing, university advancement, budgetary management, and assessment.
