OneDrive for Business
OneDrive for Business is a component of Office 365 which provides a host of communication and collaboration tools including email, online storage, instant messaging and web conferencing. OneDrive for Business is Dropbox-like online storage which includes the following features:
- 100 GB online storage
- Access via web browser, desktop client and/or smartphone apps
- Upload existing files
- Create and edit files, e.g. Word and Excel, with the Office Web App via web browser

- Support multiple machines synchronization, e.g. Android platform, iOS, Windows desktop, Windows phone, Macintosh OS, etc.
OneDrive for Business can be accessed by using:
- Web browser: Internet Explorer 9 or higher, Edge, Firefox 10 or higher, Safari 5 or higher, Chrome 17 or higher
- OneDrive for Business client for Windows
- OneDrive for Business client for Macintosh
- OneDrive for Business apps for iOS

The OneDrive for Business client for Mac is supported for OS X 10.9.5 and higher.
Points to Note
IMPORTANT: If you sync multiple devices, it is important to keep in mind that if you delete a document from any device, it will be deleted everywhere, including the cloud.
OneDrive for Business limits:
- Maximum file size = 2 GB for the desktop version and 300 MB for the web version
- Invalid file types = files with a *.tmp or *.ds_store extension; desktop.ini, thumbs.db, ehthumbs.db; or OneNote files
- Invalid characters (for file names) = \ /:* ? " < > | # { } % ~ &
NOTE: # { } % ~ & are valid characters in naming file/folder in MS Windows - Acceptable length of file name = up to 128 characters
- Acceptable length of folder name = up to 256 characters
- Acceptable length of folder name / file name combinations = up to 260 characters
- Number of items that can be synced in your OneDrive for Business library (including folders and files) = up to 20,000 items
